Beaches are crowded with people all over the world because of the comfort and exhilaration you feel every time you immerse yourself in water. Just like each time you drink a refreshing cup of water, your body feels an instant revival. And oh the joy of that time each day when you take a perfect shower or bath and you feel human again. Water is an integral way in which you refresh your life. and health.

To think that in some parts of the world, water is scarce is alarming and makes us all want to respect our water sources and not waste any of these precious resources. In this way, we can reap the full benefits from the joy of drinking and immersing ourselves in water.

Not Just Any Water

Israel is one place that has faced the reality of not having an abundant source of fresh water. This is the reason they are world-renowned for the water desalination technology they developed to assure the availability of fresh water for their citizens.

In Africa, well water is essential and moringa seeds are used to purify water.

Clean water is the goal to provide the beneficial effects of hydration without causing disease.Lack of clean water can cause dehydration and bacteria/microbial-borne diseases.

Conscious Efforts are Required

Whether you are in a developing country or not, the importance of filtering and cleaning the water you drink can not be overstated. We all remember the incident in Toledo, Ohio where residents were exposed to harmful drinking water and began suffering debilitating illnesses.

“On August 2nd, more than half a million Toledo residents were ordered not to drink or even touch their water. The order lasted for nearly three days. A few weeks later, residents of Pelee Island, Ontario faced a similar crisis lasting nearly two weeks.

Every year, agricultural runoff pollution causes massive harmful algal blooms to cover parts of the western Lake Erie basin. This year is no exception.”(1)

“Flooded by tides of phosphorus washed from fertilized farms, cattle feedlots and leaky septic systems, the most intensely developed of the Great Lakes isincreasingly being choked each summer by thick mats of algae, much of it poisonous. What plagues Toledo and, experts say, potentially all 11 million lakeside residents, is increasingly a serious problem across the United States.”(2)

“785 million people lack access to clean water. That’s 1 in 10 people on the planet. Women and girls spend an estimated 200 million hours hauling water every day. The average woman in rural Africa walks 6 kilometers every day to haul 40 pounds of water.”(3)

“3.575 million people die every year as a direct result of water-borne illness.”(4)

Wherever we live, we all need to be conscious of our water sources and do all we can to keep our water clean and filtered so it can be the elixir it is meant to be for us.

Use a good water filtration system.

Investigate the water resources where you live.

Support efforts for water purification and conservation.

Investigate natural sources for water purification, like moringa seeds and cilantro.
